Welcome Christ is Risen! Alleluia! Thank you for joining St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in proclaiming the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through Word, song, prayer, and service! Welcome! God bless you as you worship and serve the Lord this Easter Sunday and season, whether you are online with
Livestream or in-person or whatever time of day you are worshiping with this particular body of Christ. Welcome to those who believe in the resurrection of the dead and those who struggle with the crucifixion and empty tomb. We welcome those who had Covid19, those who have been vaccinated, and those not vaxed yet. We welcome you if you sing like an opera star or can’t carry a tune in a bucket. You are welcome here with your mobile phone and with whatever physical mobility you may or may not have. You are welcome here because we believe that the Spirit of the Lord called you and helped guide you to worship with everyone else this "day that the Lord has made." You are welcome here if you’re more Lutheran than Martin Luther, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s baptism, or if you’re “just browsing.” We welcome you if you are over 60, or if you haven’t grown up yet, or if you are a youngster and growing up too fast. If you are visiting Grandma and Grandpa and they made you come to church, welcome! Likewise, if you have relocated to the area, or just on-line to see what St. Mark's is like, or if used to be a part of St. Mark's before moving away, WELCOME! We also offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now. Let us know how we can help. Welcome to Saint Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mooresville because we are a place of saints and sinners of all kinds who are here by the grace of God. Alleluia!

THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD APRIL 4, 2021 - 8:30, 10:00 & 11:15 AM3
FIRST READING: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which
you in turn received, in which also you stand, 2
through which also you are being saved, if you
hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
3
For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for
our sins in accordance with the scriptures, 4
and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the
third day in accordance with the scriptures, 5
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the
twelve. 6Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of
whom are still alive, though some have died. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the
apostles. 8Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9
For I am the least of the
apostles, unfit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10But by the grace
of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain. On the contrary, I worked
harder than any of them—though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. 11Whether
then it was I or they, so we proclaim and so you have come to believe.
Here ends the reading.

THE GOSPEL Mark 16:1-8
The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the 16th chapter.
Glory to you, O Lord!
When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome
bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Jesus’ body. 2And very early on the first day of
the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3They had been saying to one another,
“Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”
4When they looked up,
they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. 5As they entered the
tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were
alarmed. 6But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who
was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7But go,
tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just 4
as he told you.”
8
So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized
them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, O Christ!

8:30 A.M. APOSTLES’ CREED (10 a.m. / 11:15 a.m. part of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was
buried; he descended to the dead.* On the third day he rose again; he ascended into
heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living
and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Praise to you for the peace made possible in the resurrection! Fill the nations with your peace.
Draw together people of all nations and languages; reveal new possibilities and inspire new
beginnings. Hear us, O God.
